Facebook has announced Facebook Prototypes, a feature akin to Google Labs.

According to their Twitter feed, Facebook’s status tagging feature is now live. It’ll be interesting to see how popular this becomes.

A public preview of Facebook Lite is now online.

Version 3.0 of the Facebook iPhone app has hit the App Store. Leaps and bounds better than version 2.

Breaking: Facebook has acquired the social aggregator FriendFeed. Mashable has more info on the deal, as does the official FriendFeed blog.

Update: according to The Wall Street Journal, the deal is valued at $50 million – $15 million in cash and the rest in Facebook stock.
