Excellent idea, especially when used with a large-screen device like the iPad. Not sure how well the app actually works, however.

They held one in 2007, before the launch of the iPhone.

During the iPhone meeting a worker is said to have asked about product cannibalization, and potentially revealed how Apple can justify the simultaneous existence of the iPhone, the iPod and now the iPad. If there’s going to be cannibalization of Apple, Jobs explained at the time, the company wants it to be by Apple.

An extensive article on Betanews discussing the technical aspects of Silverlight on the iPhone. Using the HTML5 element is genius, as it eliminates the need for a seperate plugin (which Apple probably wouldn’t allow anyway).

The first WordPress iPhone app wasn’t that good – even Matt Mullenweg has admitted as much (video link, jump to 14:15). This is leaps and bounds better in terms of usability.

I’m a supporter of higher-priced iPhone apps because an App Store with prices higher than $0.99 is more beneficial to developers than the status quo. Doubtful that this app will sell well, though.

EyeTV maker Elgato has released an $4.99 EyeTV companion app for the iPhone / iPod touch. From their site:

What’s the verdict? The bottom line is this version of EyeTV for the iPhone feels very much like the 1.0 app it is……

…..once Elgato shakes out the bugs in the app it’ll definitely be worth the money, particularly if they can get remote access to be a little less rickety.

I’ve played with the initial version a bit – it’s definitely worth considering if you have an EyeTV device.

Vodafone will start selling iPhones in the U.K. and Ireland early next year. Orange secured a similar deal earlier this week, marking an end to iPhone exclusivity in the U.K.

I wonder when the inevitable happens and AT&T stops being the single operator offering iPhones in the U.S.

The iPhone Blog reports that Apple is asking users experiencing bad battery life with version 3.1 of the iPhone OS to install a profile that enables battery life logging on their phones. When synced with iTunes, the power log data is sent from the phone to Apple to help determine the cause of the problem.

I myself haven’t noticed any drop in battery life with 3.1.
