Lazy loading below the fold

I’ve started experimenting with my home page to make it load even faster.

Amazon famously does this too which you can read more about in this Steve Souders post. They make sure everything that needs to be visible above the fold is loaded first, then, it starts loading all the other “stuff” below the fold.

This kind of optimisation has become increasingly popular; I’ve been seeing it on more and more sites lately.

Erato is a beautiful and simple Markdown editor for your Mac. It is fast, extremely easy to use and gets out of your way.

I’ve started doodling again. An ongoing project is to try and capture a winter landscape. Snow, ice and the overall feeling of serenity is really hard to get just right.

Following three weeks of intense testing after launching to our 6,000 Kickstarter backers, today we are releasing an updated Ghost 0.3.2 to everyone in the world.

Super simple to install and test locally.

Despite countless bad ones, there are some really great photographers on Instagram. Some of my recent favourites: Siobhan Ferguson and Adrian Richardson. Some really stunning images of London.
