Over four years and across eight issues we interviewed 64 world-renowned designers, including; Erik Spiekermann, Jessica Hische, Michael Bierut, Nina Stössinger, Mark Simonson & Seb Lester, plus owners of respected type foundries such as, Font Smith, Type Together and Process Type.
We’ve counted the number of times each typeface was selected and found consensus with the top 25. The top 10 designers’ favourite fonts will be quite familiar to many but hopefully the full list will provide a useful stepping stone to exploring many more.
I recognised almost none of these. The The Rooftop Cinema Club and The Screen on the Green are my favourites.
I’m not even going to try and describe this. (via kottke.org)
PlayStation Access has a video on YouTube showcasing some of Project CAR’s features. The customisable HUD is pretty neat. Come to think of it, I don’t recall any console game that allows you to change both the HUD elements as well as their positions.
Sony today revealed PlayStation Music, a new Spotify-powered music service coming to PlayStation 3, 4 and “Xperia smartphones and tablets” this spring. The service will outright replace Music Unlimited, the service that Sony previously implemented across devices, powered by its own enormous music catalog. The news marks the first time Spotify has come to any game console, and is a major coup for Sony’s PlayStation group in the battle for major home entertainment apps on game consoles (Xbox One notoriously got HBO Go first).
Excellent news. I’ve always wanted something like this, but wasn’t willing to sign up for another service when I already use Spotify for streaming.
