Considering this is Apple’s first stab at a gaming network, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a few hiccups initially. The maturity of services such as Xbox Live and PSN isn’t something that happens overnight.
As expected, the iPhone 3G won’t be able to support multitasking.

The iPhone Blog reports that Apple is asking users experiencing bad battery life with version 3.1 of the iPhone OS to install a profile that enables battery life logging on their phones. When synced with iTunes, the power log data is sent from the phone to Apple to help determine the cause of the problem.
I myself haven’t noticed any drop in battery life with 3.1.
