Wacom Inkling

The Inkling digital sketch pen captures a digital likeness of your work while you sketch with its ballpoint tip on any sketchbook or standard piece of paper. Designed for rough concepting and creative brainstorming, Inkling is ideal for the front end of the creative process.

$199, and available from mid-September. But what makes this product interesting is this:

Inkling does not require any specialized paper. It is intended to be uses with standard paper or Sketchbooks on flat, rigid drawing surfaces.

This is unlike my LiveScribe Pulse, which requires its own notebooks.

Livescribe app store

Only available in US/UK/AU and CA, but at least it’s finally launched. Really excited to see what kind of applications are developed for the¬†platform.

Mac users that own a Livescribe Pulse smartpen (I’m one of them) will be pleased to hear that Vision Objects has released a Mac version of their MyScript for Livescribe OCR software. I’ve tested the program for a few days and am quite impressed at the results. The full version of the software costs a reasonable $29,95 (there is a 30-day free trial available).
